Ingredients

• 3 ripe bananas, mashed
• 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
• 3/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1 large egg, room temperature
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend, plus extra for dusting the pan)
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
• 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
• 1 tablespoon milk or buttermilk (if batter seems too thick)
Instructions

1) Preheat and Prepare:
• Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
2) Combine Wet Ingredients:
• In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
• Add the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix until well combined.
3) Add Dry Ingredients:
• In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
• Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
• If the batter seems too thick, add 1 tablespoon of milk or buttermilk.
4) Fold in Chocolate Chips and Nuts:
• Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using).
5) Bake:
• Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
• Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. If the top is browning too quickly, tent with foil during the last 15 minutes of baking.
6) Cool and Serve:
• Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
• Slice and serve. Enjoy!
