Ingredients
For the Ice Cream Base:
• 2 cups heavy whipping cream
• 1 cup whole milk
• ¾ cup granulated sugar
• 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
For the Strawberry Swirl:
• 1 ½ cups fresh or frozen strawberries, hulled and sliced
• ¼ cup granulated sugar
• 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
1. Prepare the Strawberry Swirl:
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook for 5-7 minutes until the strawberries release their juices and become syrupy. Let the mixture cool, then blend or mash slightly for a textured sauce. Chill in the refrigerator.
2. Make the Ice Cream Base:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar dissolves.
3. Churn the Ice Cream:
Pour the ice cream base into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 20-25 minutes) until thick and creamy.
4. Layer and Swirl:
In a freezer-safe container, pour half of the churned ice cream. Spoon half of the strawberry sauce over the ice cream and gently swirl with a knife. Repeat with the remaining ice cream and strawberry sauce for a beautiful marbled effect.
5. Freeze:
Cover the container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
6. Serve:
Scoop into bowls or cones and garnish with fresh strawberries if desired. Enjoy this luscious homemade ice cream!
