Instructions
1. **Prepare the Steak:**
– Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Let the steaks rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.
– Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness (use a meat thermometer: 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium).
– Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes.
2. **Make the Garlic Butter Shrimp:**
– In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
– Add the shrimp, lemon juice, and red chili flakes (if using). Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
3. **Serve:**
– Plate the steak and top it with the garlic butter shrimp. Garnish with extra parsley and a wedge of lemon.
– Serve alongside mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a crisp salad for the ultimate surf and turf experience.
