Ingredients
Ingredients:
– 2 cups mashed potatoes (leftover mashed potatoes work great)
– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– 1/2 teaspoon paprika
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 2 eggs, beaten
– 1 cup breadcrumbs (you can use plain or seasoned breadcrumbs)
– Oil for frying
Instructions
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, flour, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
2. Shape the mashed potato mixture into sticks, about 2-3 inches long and 1/2 inch thick.
3. Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls. Place the beaten eggs in one bowl, breadcrumbs in another bowl, and leave the third bowl empty.
4. Dip each mashed potato stick first into the empty bowl, then into the beaten eggs, and finally into the breadcrumbs, ensuring they are evenly coated.
5. Heat oil in a deep frying pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
6. Carefully place the coated mashed potato sticks into the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
7. Fry the sticks for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
8. Once cooked, remove the fried mashed potato sticks from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
9. Serve the fried mashed potato sticks hot, with your favorite dipping sauce such as ketchup, ranch dressing, or sour cream.
Enjoy these crispy, flavorful mashed potato sticks as a delicious snack or side dish!
