Ingredients
– 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
– 1/2 cup (100g) light brown sugar
– 1/3 cup (67g) granulated sugar
– 1 large egg
– 1 tablespoon (15g) vanilla extract
– 1 1/4 cups (160g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
– 1/2 teaspoon (2g) baking soda
– Pinch of salt
– 1 1/2 cups (190g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
For Garnish:
– Flaky sea salt ( optional )
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk for 1-2 minutes until a smooth paste forms.
4. Crack in the egg and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet batter and gently fold until just combined.
6. Add chocolate chips and mix with a spatula. Do not overmix the batter.
7. Scoop out 9 cookies onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
8. Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on the edges and gooey in the center.
9. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
10. Allow the cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet before serving.
